OVERVIEW
The NCSC deals with cyber security breaches on a daily basis, being the National Technical Authority for incidents impacting the nation. These incidents are investigated, and their causes analysed. The NCSC has found that a common cyber security mitigation that could have contained many of these breaches, or avoided them occurring in the first place, would have been good and holistic deployment of MFA.
MFA deployment and its testing, as well as its refinement to various use cases is rarely, if ever, taught in university curriculums. However, if students had a chance to deploy and red team / blue team MFA deployments in a test environment, it would be a very valuable skill for their future cyber careers, as the experience could prove invaluable in the work environment.
