Advances in Teaching and Learning for Cyber Security Education 2026

Educating for Cyber Resilience

The Advances in Teaching and Learning for Cyber Security Education (AiTLCE) 2026 brings together educators, researchers, practitioners and policymakers to address a single question: how do we ensure that what we teach, research and build is genuinely fit for the national need it is here to serve? The conference explores that question across four themes.

Cyber Education as a National Asset Cyber resilience is only as strong as the workforce behind it. And that workforce depends directly on the quality, ambition and coherence of our cyber security education communities. Are we building them?

A Certified Community of Impact How can certified and designated institutions move from meeting a standard to shaping a national response?

Reskilling in an Evolving AI Landscape The graduate pipeline alone cannot meet cyber workforce demands. How do we build credible, flexible pathways for experienced professionals and career changers, at scale?

Agile Cyber Education Are we designing education that solves the workforce challenges of yesterday, rather than those of tomorrow?

International Collaboration

This year's programme extends conversations internationally, with keynote contributions and workshop participation from leading figures in the Australian, Canadian and US cyber education communities. If you have a stake in the quality, reach or direction of cyber security education, this is where that conversation happens. Across papers, demonstrations and four structured workshops, the conference covers:

  • Curriculum design, knowledge framework alignment and CyBOK mapping

  • Competition-based and game-based learning

  • AI integration in teaching, assessment and curriculum design

  • Threat-informed and scenario-based learning

  • Adversarial reasoning development, from secondary school to postgraduate level

  • Workforce alignment, aptitude frameworks and professional competency

  • Reskilling and mid-career pathways into AI-enabled cyber security roles

  • Inclusive and accessible pedagogy in cyber security labs and classrooms

  • Neuro-inclusive design and psychological safety in learning environments

  • Secure systems development and programming languages in cyber education

  • Cyber threat intelligence tools and educational applications

  • Digital forensics competency and law enforcement collaboration

  • Agentic AI and cybernetic approaches to teaching and learning

  • Digital inclusion and community resilience

  • Certification infrastructure and the NCSC Certified Degrees process

  • Complex supply chain risk and cross-sector education

  • School, college and higher education pathway design

  • International collaboration in curriculum, workforce development and certification

  • Regional hub activity and national cyber education network development

The latest conference agenda can be downloaded here (please note that the conference agenda is subject to change until the 12th of July 2026.

Who Should Attend

AiTLCE 2026 is for anyone with a stake in how cyber security is taught, researched and developed in the UK and beyond. Whether you work in a university, a college, a government agency, an industry organisation or a school, the conference offers a programme of research, demonstration and discussion that connects the work you do to the national and international context within which it matters.

As an opportunity to enhance national value, profile and collaboration within the Cyber Education Ecosystem, the conference directly encourages the attendance of:

  • ACE-CSE Directors and their academic teams

  • Institutions holding or pursuing NCSC Certified Degree status

  • Regional Hub collaborators across the CSE Connect network

If you are working to strengthen the quality, reach and impact of cyber education in your institution or community, AiTLCE 2026 is your conference.
