ICEC: Technology-facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) and Education Event

It’s our pleasure to invite you to participate in an international two-hour online event exploring online gender-based violence and education at 1100( US-ET)/ 1600 (UK-Port)

This conference is hosted by the International Cybersecurity Education Collaborative in partnership with the Beatriz Angelo Foundation .  It has two aims. The first is to understand what is meant by online or technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV).  The second is to examine the role of education, teaching and curriculum in addressing TFGBV. We will hear from our speakers before discussing perspectives on education, including the role of cyber security educators.

We are grateful to our guest speakers who are:  

Professor Olga Jurasz, professor of law and Director of the Centre for Protecting Women Online. Her research expertise is in international law, human rights, legal responses to violence against women (including online violence) and feminist approaches to governance of online spaces. Olga is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. 

Kanishk Gaur, is a Digital Risk Management Entrepreneur.  He is CEO of Athenian Tech and Founder of the India Future Foundation (IFF).  Together with international partners, the IFF runs a programme that focuses on promoting a safe, gender responsive and equitable cyber space which aims to safeguard women against online abuse, exploitation and cyber bullying through webinars and workshops, in association with UN Women and different NGOs.
