Dr Shahrzad Zagari

Director of the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Hub

Shahrzad is the Associate Head of Cyber Security and Computer Networks at Sheffield Hallam University, bringing over 15 years of extensive experience in IT, spanning computer hardware, software, and business management. Her deep expertise and leadership drive innovation and excellence in cybersecurity education and research.


Passionate about digital forensics and security, Shahrzad champions collaboration across

government, industry, and academia to strengthen the cybersecurity ecosystem. She is dedicated to empowering the next generation of cybersecurity professionals through dynamic education and knowledge sharing.

In addition to her academic role, Shahrzad serves as the Director and Steering Committee Member of the Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster and as Vice Chair of the BCS South Yorkshire Branch. She is also an active member of the UKC3 Cyber Skills Working Group, contributing to national efforts in cyber skills development.


As a seasoned researcher affiliated with CENTRIC, Shahrzad has authored many book chapters and published widely in leading conferences, journals, and industry magazines. She further contributes to the field as Associate Editor of the Information Security Journal: A Global Perspective by Taylor & Francis.
